It's been four years since I first walked through the doors of Home Instead. Some of my co-workers still chuckle when I state that I work amongst angels. Whether it's our clients, our caregivers, or my co-workers, someone makes you laugh or smile almost every day! It is quite gratifying to be involved with such a fabulous organization whose mission is to simply assist others with their needs.

I graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, specializing in care for the elderly. I came to Home Instead in May of 2007, and I have found my experience with the company to be incredibly rewarding. I feel privileged to play a part in improving the quality of life of our clients and helping them stay in their homes as long as possible.

I grew up in Lancaster Country and relocated to Berks County after graduating from Alvernia College with a Social Work degree. At Alvernia, I met my future husband, Shawn. We have been married 5 years and have a one year old son. Working for Home Instead Senior Care for the last four years as a Staffing Coordinator has been rewarding professionally and personally.

I began working as a staffing coordinator at Home Instead Senior Care in October 2007. Since then I have enjoyed getting to know the clients including their needs, personality, and interests. Often when you meet a client you know immediately what caregivers they will hit it off with. It is very rewarding to know I help play a role in connecting compatible clients and caregivers which often leads to long lasting friendships.

While with Home Instead, I've focused upon client and family concerns as I've worked to coordinate the best plan of care for each of our clients. I have a long history working with seniors and my desire is to see people maintain independence and have caring people around them to help.

Having known Michael socially for many years, I am proud to say that I was his first caregiver. Now I serve in the office as a part-time support person and I am very happy to answer phones, prepare folders and do mailings….and anything else that need doing. I raised two daughters and now reside in Allentown.
